Sophisticated IP solutions for complex chips
The advance of process technology along with the reduction in silicon cost is enabling more and more intelligence to be built into the most common consumer devices. With all of our information moving to the cloud it is often desirable to allow these devices access to information in the cloud or to connect with other devices. Although the chips that power these devices need to be at the lowest cost and lowest power consumption, they are growing in complexity, requiring sophisticated IP solutions. These include microcontrollers, sensors and automotive control.
Sonics understands the low cost and low power demands of these devices while at the same time the need for increased performance. Sonics System IP is designed to scale with SoC complexity. Connecting a few IP cores or greater than 100 IP cores, Sonics IP is highly configurable to ensure the most optimal design – the lowest area, lowest power at the best performance.
SonicsLX (SLX), for example, offers designer the best balance of performance and cost. This high-speed on-chip network provides SoC designers with the optimal connectivity needed for CPUs and other processing engines to memory. When SonicsS3220 is added to a chip, it provides a serial network that spans long distances of the SoC so that multiple peripherals can be connected to an on-chip network. The combination of these two Sonics IP products provides the topology structures for the most optimized network design.
